Sunday Roast - Tremenheere Kitchen

In my opinion, Sunday roast dinner is the best meal of all time. If you were to ask me what my final meal would be, it would be a roast or brunch (read about my latest brunch love here.) Tremenheere Kitchen has been a favourite of mine for lunch for a long time, but it is only recently I’ve tried their roast, and I have to say I think it may well be my favourite in Cornwall.

Tremenheere Kitchen is located in Gulval, with the most beautiful views of Mounts Bay and has the added bonus of having the Gardens open for visitors with an array of sculptures and walks. I would recommend booking to avoid the disappointment of not getting a table, which is very likely as it’s a popular place (rightly so).

Now back to the food, the menu is a perfect mix and caters to everyone, whether you’re after a light lunch or something bigger, there really is something for everyone in my opinion. As my parents were down for the weekend, we decided to go for a roast before they headed back home.

I went for my usual complicated order “Can I have the beef roast, without the beef but on the side to give to someone else and can I have vegetarian gravy?” - I know, annoying. This however was not an issue whatsoever, the staff are fantastic and it was not seen as a bother whatsoever. i’ve included a photo of what the beef roast looks like for all of you that eat meat, it was thumbs up all around from us, the perfect roast dinner.

Obviously, we had to get dessert despite being more than full from our lunch. This treacle tart was absolutely divine, with my oat milk latte (another thumbs up, so nice to not have to settle for soya milk!). I really cannot recommend Tremenheere Kitchen enough, it is in the most beautiful location and it’s just as impressive inside.

We had a mooch around the shop which again is beautiful and stocked with lots of local products and lovely bits that make you want to take the whole shop home with you. I came across a delicate little ring by Ankor Cornwall which I bought right away, which is very rare as A) I’m not a big jewellery wearer and B) I’m not an impulse buyer anymore but hey, it happens sometimes. I asked my mum to model my ring for me as my hands are currently a fake tan mess, and no-one needs to see that. If you want to have a look at the products by Ankor Cornwall you can have a look here.

My final thoughts? I highly recommend (shock horror)! I had such a lovely afternoon here, the perfect Sunday spot and so far, the best roast I’ve had in Cornwall.
