Meet S'wheat, the world's first plant-based reusable bottle.

I’m a big fan of re-usable bottles, to the point I’ve actually been incredibly thirsty rather than purchasing a plastic bottle of water when out and about - a lesson to always have one in my bag! When S’wheat got in touch about their new bottle made of plants (yes you read that correctly), I was desperate to give it a proper trial run. Is it possible for a bottle made of plants to be leak proof and keep drinks hot/cold?

S’wheat is the brain child of two people that want to make a change, designed in Scotland and made from sustainably sourced materials - to be more specific, they are made from naturally grown bamboo and wheat straw. From every sale, S’wheat plant a tree that you can actually track the growth of in real time - how amazing is that?

With every bottle sold, S’wheat take 20lbs of plastic out of the oceans (the equivalent to 360 single-use plastic bottles). They also donate a % of profits to help sea life around the globe, all while being carbon neutral with their aim to become BCORP registered within the next few months, which is really exciting.

Their core mission is to protect the oceans from plastic pollution, that's why they wanted to create the world's most eco-friendly water bottle.

So after several beach days, woodland walks and coffees in the car, I can confirm it has passed the test of being a fantastic sustainable swap. They really have thought of everything when it comes to the design, it has a no spill spout, super easy to clean and a handy little hook clip which attaches well to your bag. The bottles come in a range of colours, I personally love the pink but there is really something for everyone!

The S’wheat bottle is launching in mid-May and in the mean time, you can sign up to their waitlist which includes eco-friendly rewards and gifts - all you need to do is enter your email address.
