Weekly Roundup

Now that the sunshine is (finally) here, it also means there is a lot more going on, so I thought I’d do a bit of a round up on what I’ve been upto! Starting off with attending the wedding of two of our best friends in the most beautiful location. The sun was shining and it was honestly the most perfect day with all the people I love in one place! I could write a whole blog post on their wedding to be honest but I’ll leave it at that it was amazing and congratulations to Georgie and Tom who are like family to us and we bloomin love you!

On the Sunday feeling ever so slightly worse for wear, we took my parents to The Cove in Falmouth, somewhere they hadn't been before. We were all beyond impressed with the food, service and the stunning view of Maenporth beach. I cannot recommend The Cove enough, I will do a full blog post dedicated to it very soon, thats how much I like it!

Tuesday was the most beautiful day, and after a hot day in the office me and my pal Alex decided that a sea swim was absolutely needed. We headed down to Marazion beach (I spend 80% of my life on this beach!) and had a well needed cool off in the sea.

I had holiday booked from work for Thursday and Friday, so I ran errands on Thursday and decided Friday regardless of the weather to take myself to the beach to just sit and read a book - which is something I definitely don’t do enough. I’ve recently started reading ‘In Cold Blood’ by Truman Capote again, one of the few books I’ve actually kept as once I’ve read a book I tend to donate it or give to someone else, but this one I can read over and over again.

Friday evening was also pretty special as it was my friend Kit’s first ever solo exhibition which we went to the opening of. I know obviously I'm biased, but I can safely say his work is spectacular. I’m no art critic, but I absolutely love the depth behind his work and the message behind each piece. ‘Breaking Point’ will be on display until 26th July at Summerhouse Gallery in Marazion and I would highly recommend checking it out, there are also beautiful pieces from Tom Leaper and Jake Boex in the gallery as part of the exhibition.

Saturday morning we headed straight for the beach, starting the day off right with brunch on the beach from Jordans Cafe, my absolute favourite and it’s literally a stones throw from the beach. I got my second sea swim of the week however it was absolutely freezing and we lasted a pathetic 5 minutes in the sea - I’m starting to consider buying a wetsuit for next year. I plan to have a pretty chilled day tomorrow with the high hopes of doing a clothes clearout for both me and Fred, but I know if it’s sunny that plan will go out the window!
